10 µF at 50 V — the bulk decoupling fit
The TAJD106M050RNJV: This is a 10 µF, 50 V rated molded tantalum capacitor in the standard D-case 2917 footprint. The 50 V rating gives headroom on a 12 V, 24 V, or even 48 V rail — a 48 V bus sees 50 V as the absolute ceiling, so derate to 80 % (40 V working) for reliability. The 800 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz is typical for a D-case MnO2 tantalum; it limits ripple current to roughly 0.5 A RMS before self-heating becomes a concern.
This part is still in standard production and can be ordered against a BOM line without obsolescence risk.
Temperature range and lifetime
The 2000-hour lifetime at 125°C is the standard endurance for MnO2 tantalum; at 85°C the expected life extends significantly — typically 10× or more per Arrhenius scaling.
