0.68 µF at 50 V — Molded tantalum in a 2312 case
The TAJC684M050RNJ: This is a 0.68 µF, 50 V rated molded tantalum capacitor from the TAJ series, in a 2312 (6032 Metric) surface-mount package. The ±20% tolerance is standard for this class — expect the actual capacitance to land between 0.544 µF and 0.816 µF at 25°C and rated DC bias. The 7 ohm ESR is on the higher side for a tantalum cap at this voltage rating, which means ripple current capability is limited. For a 50 V rail, a 100 kHz ripple of 100 mA would dissipate about 70 mW — fine for most decoupling, but check the thermal rise if the cap sits near a hot component or sees sustained AC current.
The molded case and standard tantalum construction mean it handles the thermal cycling of outdoor telecom cabinets or engine-bay electronics, though the ESR will rise at cold temperatures — expect roughly double the 25°C value at -40°C.
