470 µF bulk decoupling at 2.5 V — the 200 mOhm ESR tells you the ripple limit
The TAJC477M002RNJ: This is a 470 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 2.5 V with a 200 mOhm equivalent series resistance (ESR). The 200 mOhm ESR sets the ripple current ceiling: at 100 kHz, the self-heating from ripple current is manageable below about 1.5 A RMS, which covers most sub-10 A rails. Above that, a lower-ESR polymer or multi-layer ceramic would run cooler.
The molded case and tantalum construction keep the capacitance stable across the band; the ESR rises at low temperature, so a cold-start circuit should budget for higher ripple at -55°C.
