The 1.5 Ohm ESR sets the ripple current ceiling — at 100 kHz, the self-heating from ripple current through this ESR limits the useful AC current to roughly 700 mA RMS before the case temperature rise exceeds the 125°C absolute maximum.
The molded case (size C, 6.00 mm × 3.20 mm footprint) provides mechanical stability under vibration — the epoxy encapsulation resists moisture ingress better than a dipped radial, though a conformal coat is still advised for condensing environments.
