Capacitor selection for 50 V rails
The TAJC155M050SNJ is a molded tantalum capacitor from the TAJ series, rated at 1.5 µF and 50 V with ±20% tolerance. The 4.5 Ohm ESR is the key parameter for ripple current handling and self-heating — a higher ESR means the capacitor runs warmer under AC ripple, so budget derating when used near a switching regulator output.
