The TAJB474J035RNJ: This is a 0.47 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 35 V, ±5% tolerance, in the compact size B case (3.50 mm × 2.80 mm footprint, 2.10 mm seated height). The 10 Ohm ESR (equivalent series resistance) is typical for a size B tantalum at this capacitance and voltage — it limits ripple current handling and sets the self-heating under AC load. For decoupling or bulk storage on a DC rail where ripple is low, the ESR is adequate; for high-ripple switching supplies, a lower-ESR polymer or aluminium electrolytic would be a better fit.
It is still in regular production, so there is no looming last-time-buy window.
The molded case construction (type: Molded) provides mechanical protection and moisture resistance compared to conformally coated tantalums.
