ESR and Ripple — What 2.4 Ohm Means at the Bench
The 2.4-ohm ESR at 100 kHz is a mid-range value — not a low-ESR type, so it is not the first choice for a buck converter output filter where you want sub-100-milliohm ESR to keep ripple voltage down. At 100 kHz, a 2.4-ohm ESR on a 22 µF cap contributes roughly 5.3 ohms of impedance — the ripple current rating will be modest, so check the thermal derating if the cap sits near a hot regulator.
