It is a general-purpose part suited for bulk decoupling on low-voltage rails — 3.3 V or 1.8 V — where the 6.3 V rating provides adequate headroom without over-specifying. The 3 ohm ESR is typical for this case size and capacitance; it limits ripple current handling to roughly 200 mA RMS at 85°C ambient. For higher ripple applications, a lower-ESR polymer or multi-anode tantalum would be a better fit.
Temperature grade and board-fit considerations
At 125°C the voltage derating per MIL-PRF-55365 applies — typically 50% of rated voltage, so the effective working voltage drops to 3.15 V. For engine-bay or avionics use, confirm the derating curve in the full datasheet.
