AEC-Q200 — what the qualification certifies

ESR and ripple-current ceiling in a 1206 case
ESR is specified at 5 Ohm measured at 100 kHz. In a switching-regulator output filter, this ESR sets the self-heating limit: the ripple current through the capacitor generates I²R loss that raises the internal temperature above ambient.
