Frequently asked questions

Can I replace TAJA226K010SNJ with a ceramic capacitor?

Possibly, but check the ESR and DC bias derating. This tantalum has 3 Ohm ESR at 100 kHz and 22 µF at 10 V. A ceramic MLCC of the same capacitance and voltage rating will have much lower ESR (milliohms) but loses capacitance as DC bias approaches the rated voltage. For a 10 V rail, a 25 V-rated X7R ceramic in 1206 would hold most of its capacitance, but the ESR difference may affect loop stability if this cap is on a regulator output. Test before swapping.
