Active production — 22 µF bulk tantalum for 6.3 V rails
The TAJA226K006RNJ is an active-production molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TAJ series, rated 22 µF at 6.3 V with ±10% tolerance. The 1206 (3216 Metric) case and 3 Ohm ESR make it a standard choice for bulk decoupling on low-voltage rails where board space is moderate.
The molded construction provides mechanical robustness under vibration.
ESR and ripple current budget
It limits the AC ripple current the capacitor can handle before self-heating becomes a concern — for a 6.3 V rail with 100 mV ripple, the ripple current is about 33 mA RMS, well within the safe zone. If your load draws higher ripple, consider a lower-ESR polymer or multiple capacitors in parallel.
