What this TAJ tantalum cap is for
The 2.2 µF capacitance and 10 V rating suit low-voltage DC rails — think 3.3 V or 5 V supply bypassing, output smoothing on a linear regulator, or coupling in audio paths where the ESR floor matters. The 1206 case (3.20 x 1.60 mm footprint) is a common size that fits standard PCB land patterns without a layout change. The A-size code means the seated height stays under 1.80 mm — thin enough for a mezzanine or card-edge assembly.
The 2000-hour endurance at 125 °C is typical for a commercial tantalum — at that temperature the leakage current rises and the electrolyte dries faster, so plan a derating factor if the rail sits above 8 V DC in continuous 125 °C ambient. ESR is specified at 7 Ω at 100 kHz — that is the impedance the cap presents to ripple current at switching frequencies. A higher ESR means more self-heating for a given ripple current; if this cap sits on a buck converter output, check the ripple current against the capacitor's rated ripple current (not given here) to stay below the internal temperature rise limit. For general decoupling, 7 Ω is fine.
