1.5 µF / 20 V – BOM fit for bulk decoupling
The 1.5 µF capacitance at 20 V rated voltage suits low-frequency decoupling on 12 V or 5 V rails where the 6.5 Ohm ESR at 100 kHz is acceptable — think output filtering on a linear regulator or bulk bypass on a power-entry stage. The ±20% tolerance is typical for tantalum; if your rail needs tighter ripple control, you'll want a lower-ESR polymer cap or a higher voltage derating.
Active production – no obsolescence worry
The TAJ series is a mature, widely second-sourced platform; if you need a drop-in alternative, any TAJ-series 1.5 µF 20 V in size A (1206) with ±20% tolerance will fit the same pad layout.
Temperature range and lifetime – harsh-environment capable
The 6.5 Ohm ESR limits ripple current handling; at high frequencies the cap behaves more like a resistor, so keep it on the input side of a switching regulator, not the output filter.
