What the AEC-Q200 rating means for the BOM
In a transmission controller that sees 105 °C ambient, the derating curve from the datasheet will extend usable life well beyond the 2000-hour mark — but that is the figure the qualification certifies.
Capacitance, voltage, and ESR — the fit check
ESR is 6.5 ohm at 100 kHz — the ripple current the capacitor can handle without self-heating is inversely proportional to this value. In a switching regulator output filter, that ESR sets the output ripple voltage; for a 100 mA ripple current, the ripple voltage drop across the cap is 0.65 V, which may be acceptable for a 5 V rail but marginal for a 1.8 V core supply.
Package and mounting for the 1206 case
1206 (3216 metric) case — 3.20 mm × 1.60 mm footprint, 1.80 mm seated height. The A-case size code means the narrowest width in the TAJ series; the pad layout should follow the manufacturer's recommended land pattern to avoid tombstoning during reflow.
