10 µF at 10 V – the BOM-fit check
That 10 µF at 10 V is the headline spec – if your BOM calls for a 10 µF, 10 V tantalum in a 1206 case, this part fits the line item.
ESR is 3 Ohm at 100 kHz. For a 10 µF cap, that is a moderate ESR – it will handle general-purpose bulk decoupling on a 10 V rail, but it is not a low-ESR part for high-frequency switching regulator output filtering. If you are using it to smooth a 100 kHz switcher, the ripple voltage across 3 Ohm will be higher than with a specialty low-ESR tantalum or ceramic.
That means it is at home in an engine bay, an outdoor telecom cabinet, or a downhole tool – anywhere the ambient can swing wide. The 125°C rating is the upper limit; derate the voltage above 85°C per standard tantalum practice (typically 50% derating at 125°C).
