55,856 LEs and 324 I/O — what this FPGA brings to the board
The Intel EP4CE55F23C6 is a Cyclone IV E FPGA with 55,856 logic elements and 324 user I/O in a 484-ball FBGA package. That logic density puts it in the mid-range of the Cyclone IV E family — enough for a multi-axis motion controller, a vision pre-processor, or a PCIe bridge with some glue logic left over. The 324 I/O are all available on the 484-ball grid, so you can route a parallel bus, a few dozen LVDS pairs, and still have pins for configuration and status LEDs. The 2,396,160 bits of embedded RAM are sized for FIFO buffers or small look-up tables; if your design needs larger block RAM, you step up to the EP4CE75.
