What this Hall latch does and where it fits
The TLV49462LXA is a south-pole-activated Hall-effect latch from Infineon. It switches its open-drain output on at 3.5 mT (typical) and releases at -3.5 mT, meaning it holds state until the opposite polarity field is applied — a true latch, not a switch. It runs from a 2.7 V supply rail and draws 6 mA typical switching current, so it fits on a 3.3 V or 5 V bus without a separate regulator. The through-hole package (Bulk) means it goes into a wave-solder process, not a reflow oven — check the hole size and wave profile before placing it.
Temperature compensation and operating range
The listed feature is Temperature Compensated — the switch points are stabilised across the full -40°C to 85°C range. Without this, the magnetic trip threshold would drift with temperature, causing false triggers or missed edges in outdoor or engine-bay environments.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
The through-hole package (Bulk) is a standard leaded format, so supply is steady through distribution. We source it per RFQ against your BOM quantity; confirm the current lead time and pricing at quote time.
