Bipolar Hall switch for position and speed sensing
The TLI4966GHTSA1 is a bipolar Hall-effect switch from Infineon's TLI series, delivering a digital output that toggles with alternating magnetic poles — North pole to 10 mT operate threshold, South pole to -10 mT release. The 2.7 V minimum supply lets it run on a 3.3 V or 5 V rail with margin, and the -40°C to 115°C operating range covers industrial enclosures and underhood automotive bays without a secondary regulator.
Magnetic thresholds and temperature compensation
The 10 mT operate point and -10 mT release point are specified at 25°C, but the device includes temperature compensation to keep the thresholds stable across the -40°C to 115°C range — important for a sensor that sees engine-bay heat or outdoor thermal cycling. Output is a digital open-drain rated for 10 mA continuous, sufficient to drive a PLC input or a microcontroller GPIO with a pull-up resistor. The 7 mA switching current is the typical supply draw, so the total load on the 2.7 V rail stays under 20 mA even with the output active.
Active production, tape-and-reel packaging
The TSOP6-6-9 package ships on tape and reel (7-inch or 13-inch reels) and is also available as cut tape for prototype or low-volume builds.
