Position sensing with SENT output
The TLE5014S16DXUMA1 is an Infineon angle sensor that measures rotary, linear, or angular position over a full 0° to 360° range and reports the value via the SENT protocol — a standard digital interface in automotive powertrain and chassis systems. It is qualified to AEC-Q100, covering the -40°C to 125°C temperature range, so it can sit on a motor shaft or throttle body without a separate signal conditioner. The sensor outputs both Cosine and Sine raw signals internally, but the digital SENT frame carries the processed angle — no external ADC or ratiometric conversion needed. An external magnet (not included) provides the rotating field; the sensor IC reads the field angle via integrated Hall plates.
Supply and interface requirements
Runs from a 4.2 V supply rail — check that your 5 V or 3.3 V system has a regulator that can deliver 4.2 V to the sensor, or use the onboard LDO if the datasheet shows one. The SENT output is a single-wire, 3.3 V or 5 V compatible push-pull signal that connects directly to an ECU SENT input pin. The gull-wing package (PG-DSO-8) is a standard surface-mount footprint.
Lifecycle and sourcing status
The part is available in Tape & Reel (TR) and Cut Tape (CT) options, which suits both prototype builds and volume production. Sourced and quoted to order against your BOM quantity — confirm current lead time and pricing at quote time.
