What this driver is — and where it fits
The Infineon TLE4206-4GXUMA2 is a fully integrated brushed DC motor controller that combines the control logic and power stage on one die. It drives a single brushed DC motor bidirectionally via two half-bridge outputs, or two motors in one direction each, at up to 800 mA per bridge. The 8V to 18V supply range maps directly to nominal 12V automotive electrical systems, and the -40°C to 150°C junction temperature rating qualifies it for under-hood and engine-bay actuator modules — throttle flaps, HVAC doors, headlamp leveling, and coolant-valve positioning. The parallel interface keeps the MCU I/O count low: four logic inputs control the two half-bridge enable and polarity states. Infineon lists the part as Active, so there is no near-term LTB pressure for new-design qualification.
Output current and thermal — sizing the load
800 mA continuous per half-bridge is the headline output. That number determines the motor winding resistance and the PCB trace width on the output path.
Supply rail — 8V to 18V covers the 12V bus
The voltage supply and voltage-load ranges are identical at 8V to 18V, meaning the logic and power share the same rail.
Package and mounting — PG-DSO-14 footprint
The TLE4206-4GXUMA2 ships in a PG-DSO-14 package (the Infineon designation for a 14-lead SOIC with 3.90 mm body width, 0.154" pitch). Surface-mount assembly on a standard board.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Infineon lists the TLE4206-4GXUMA2 as Active — no last-time-buy notice, no end-of-life announcement. That means it can be qualified into a new BOM without planning for a near-term replacement.
