128 Mbit parallel NOR — the access-time gate
The Infineon S29GL128P90FFIR10 is a 128 Mbit parallel NOR flash from the GL-P series, organized as 16M x 8 bits. The 90 ns access time sets the read latency ceiling — at this speed the part supports zero-wait-state execution from flash on many embedded processors clocked up to about 11 MHz, beyond which a cache or shadow-to-RAM strategy is needed.
Housed in a 64-ball FBGA (13x11 mm body), the S29GL128P90FFIR10 uses a surface-mount parallel interface. The 0.80 mm ball pitch is standard for this density class — a 4-layer PCB with via-in-pad or dogbone fan-out handles the routing. The tray packaging (not tape-and-reel) is typical for prototype and low-volume builds; high-volume reflow lines may request a reeled variant.
