The 16-bit wide data interface matches many MCU and SoC external memory controllers directly — no byte-lane multiplexing needed. The 120 ns access time governs read latency; the memory controller must meet this window for zero-wait-state operation. Word/page write cycle time is 60 ns, which sets the programming throughput for OTA update staging.
This allows BOM commitment without last-time-buy planning. The GL-S series is the current mainstream parallel NOR family from Infineon, so PCN notifications are the only watch item — no imminent obsolescence.
