Access time and interface timing
The 120 ns access time sets the ceiling for random read throughput from the parallel bus. In a 16-bit wide configuration, each read cycle delivers 2 bytes, so the raw sequential read rate is approximately 16.7 MB/s before accounting for controller overhead and page-mode reads. The write cycle time for a word or page is 60 ns, which governs the programming throughput during firmware updates or data logging. The parallel interface uses a standard address/data multiplexed bus common to NOR flash controllers on most ARM and x86 boot ROM interfaces.
