The 66 MHz clock frequency is the main spec that separates this variant from the 133 MHz FL-S parts. In Quad I/O mode, each clock edge transfers four bits, so the raw read throughput is about 33 MB/s. That is fine for code shadowing, configuration storage, or firmware updates where latency is not critical. If your application needs faster boot times or higher throughput for execute-in-place, the 133 MHz siblings (S25FL512SAGBHV210, S25FL512SAGMFIR10) are the ones to look at — they double the clock but keep the same 512 Mbit density and package options.

ROHS3 compliant. The FL-S series is a mature, well-established NOR Flash family, so you are not chasing a dying line.
Field-swap note for the repair kit
The 16-SOIC package is wide-body (7.50 mm), not the narrow 3.90 mm SOIC. Orientation is obvious — the chamfered corner and dot align. If you are carrying a field kit, toss a couple of these in; they swap clean with a hot-air station at 260°C, no pre-bake needed if the moisture barrier bag is intact. No lab, no bench, let us go.
