At 133 MHz in Quad I/O mode, the S25FL512SAGMFV010 can sustain a read throughput that supports execute-in-place (XIP) for many ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V cores without a separate DRAM cache. The 512 Mbit density holds a full firmware image plus a redundant slot for OTA updates, or a large lookup table for industrial control. The Quad I/O interface doubles the data rate over standard SPI, which matters when the MCU's flash controller is the bottleneck in a high-speed data acquisition path.
