512 Mbit SPI NOR in a 16-SOIC wide-body
The Infineon S25FL512SAGMFIG11 is a 512 Mbit SPI NOR flash from the FL-S family, organized as 64M x 8 and accessed over a quad-I/O SPI bus at up to 133 MHz.
Package and rework considerations
The 16-SOIC wide-body is a gull-wing leaded package with a 1.27 mm pitch — easy to hand-solder or reflow. Pin 1 is clearly marked with a chamfer on the package body and a dot on the top surface — no ambiguity under a magnifier. The wide body gives good clearance for a hot-air nozzle; the leads are robust enough that a misaligned reflow can be touched up with a fine iron without lifting pads.
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
Peer variants S25FL512SAGMFIG10, S25FL512SAGMFIR10, and S25FL512SAGMFI010 share the same silicon, package, and temperature grade — the only difference is the delivery medium (tube vs tray). Any of these can be substituted on the same PCB without a layout change, provided the pick-and-place feeder is set for the correct carrier.
