Memory selection memo — 256 Mbit NOR with Quad SPI
The 66 MHz clock frequency is the maximum SPI clock for this device. In Quad I/O mode, four data lines transfer simultaneously, so the effective read throughput is four times the clock rate — 264 Mbps. That bandwidth supports fast boot from flash, execute-in-place (XIP) for cached MCU cores, or high-speed firmware updates without stalling the host processor. If your design reads large lookup tables or logs data at high rates, this part keeps the SPI bus from becoming the bottleneck.
The 105°C ceiling is a step above the standard 85°C industrial grade, making it suitable for environments with higher ambient heat — engine compartments, base-station power supplies, or factory-floor controllers near motors. The non-volatile storage retains data across the full range, and the SPI interface timing is characterised over temperature, so no derating is needed for read margin at the hot end.
The Tape & Reel delivery (TR suffix) is set for automated pick-and-place — no tube or tray handling required. The surface-mount package reflows with standard lead-free profiles; no special thermal pad or exposed paddle to manage.
