Product details

256 Mbit SPI NOR flash — FL-S family, active production

The S25FL256SAGMFV013 is a 256 Mbit SPI NOR flash from Infineon's FL-S series, organized as 32 M x 8 bits. It communicates over a Quad I/O SPI bus at up to 133 MHz, giving the firmware engineer a sustained read throughput that keeps the Cortex-M or RISC-V core fed during execute-in-place (XIP) boot.

Temperature grade and endurance envelope

A sensor node or motor drive that sees 85°C on the PCB still has 20°C of margin before the flash hits its ceiling — important because data retention is a temperature spec: at 105°C the retention window shortens versus the 20-year figure at 55°C. Budget the ECC the datasheet requires; read-disturb accumulates on adjacent cells over the life of the firmware update cycle. The Quad I/O interface operates at the same VCC, so no separate I/O supply is needed.

Package and board-fit — 16-SOIC wide-body

The wide-body variant gives more clearance between the package edge and the nearest adjacent component on a 2-layer board. Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR), which is the expected format for pick-and-place assembly. The reel quantity is the standard SOIC-16 wide count — confirm the reel fill at RFQ time for line-side inventory planning.
