32 Mbit NOR Flash with Quad-SPI at 108 MHz
It uses an SPI interface with Quad I/O support, clocked at up to 108 MHz for fast read and program operations.
At 108 MHz in Quad I/O mode, the part delivers a sustained read throughput that supports execute-in-place (XIP) from flash without a RAM shadow for many MCU cores. The 3 ms page write time (word/page) sets the firmware-update latency floor — a 256-byte page programs in that window, so OTA staging needs to account for the cumulative write time across the image size.
24-ball BGA — footprint and rework
Rework needs hot-air or reflow station with profile control — not a hand-solder part.
Infineon lists the S25FL132K0XBHIS20 as Obsolete. For BOM lines already qualified to this exact mark, supply runs through independent distribution on a last-time-buy or surplus basis. Designs still in development should evaluate a current-production NOR Flash in the same density and interface class to avoid a future respin.
