128 Mbit NOR flash for code-shadowing and data-logging
The S25FL128SAGMFB000: It is a non-volatile memory device targeting firmware storage, execute-in-place (XIP) code shadowing, and parameter logging in embedded systems. The SPI Quad I/O interface supports single, dual, and quad data rates, with a maximum clock frequency of 133 MHz. In quad-I/O read mode, the sustained throughput reaches 532 Mbps — enough to feed a Cortex-M4 or entry-level application processor without stalling the instruction bus.
A motor drive or PLC module operating inside a sealed cabinet at 85°C ambient still has 20°C of margin before the flash hits its upper limit. The wide tolerance also accommodates a 3.0 V coin-cell backup for data retention during system power-down.
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide-body package (7.50 mm body width), the footprint matches industry-standard NOR flash pinouts. The 1.27 mm pin pitch is hand-solderable and inspectable under a microscope — no X-ray needed for rework verification.
