64 Mbit automotive NOR Flash with Quad SPI
It uses a SPI interface with Quad I/O and QPI support, clocked at 108 MHz.
This is the baseline for any tier-one ECU or ADAS module. If the design requires 105°C or 125°C operation, this part does not cover that — verify the thermal profile of the mounting location.
108 MHz Quad SPI — throughput for fast boot
The 108 MHz clock rate applies to both single and Quad I/O reads. In Quad I/O mode, the effective throughput is roughly 54 MB/s, enough for fast code shadowing to RAM or rapid firmware updates over the air. The QPI mode reduces the initial command overhead by using the four I/O lines for the opcode as well. For designs that already use a standard SPI NOR, migrating to this part requires checking that the host controller supports Quad I/O or QPI — the pinout is the same, but the protocol differs.
This is a standard footprint for automotive NOR Flash and is shared across the S25FL064L family. No exposed pad — all dissipation is through the leads.
