The Cypress (now Infineon) S25FL032P0XMFA000 is a 32 Mbit SPI NOR Flash memory from the Automotive FL-P series, qualified to AEC-Q100. It stores firmware, calibration tables, or boot code in automotive ECUs, ADAS modules, or industrial controllers that need non-volatile storage with fast random-access reads. The 104 MHz Quad I/O interface lets the host read at up to 416 Mbps in quad mode, which is fast enough for execute-in-place (XIP) from a companion MCU or SoC without a separate DRAM.
32 Mbit density and 4M x 8 organization
Organised as 4M x 8 bits, the 32 Mbit array gives you 4 MB of code or data space. That is enough for a medium-sized RTOS image, a bootloader plus one or two application images for over-the-air update staging, or a configuration parameter block with room to spare. The 5 µs page write and 3 ms sector erase times keep the programming overhead manageable during production flashing or field updates.
The SPI interface supports single, dual, and quad I/O operations. At 104 MHz in quad-read mode, the sustained throughput hits about 50 MB/s, which is enough to feed a Cortex-M7 or RISC-V core executing directly from Flash without a cache miss penalty.
This part carries an official Obsolete lifecycle status. Cypress/Infineon no longer manufactures it, and no last-time-buy window remains open. There is no pin-compatible direct replacement from the same manufacturer in the FL-P series; any substitute requires a qualification cycle on the host board.
