MCE motor controller for AC synchronous drives
The Infineon IRMCK371TY is a dedicated commutation and direction management controller from the MCE series, designed to drive AC synchronous motors through an external IGBT power stage. It integrates a pre-driver half-bridge output stage for three-phase inverter control and communicates over I²C, SPI, or RS-232 for parameter setup and monitoring. Typical deployment is in appliance motor drives where a single-chip control solution with a serial interface reduces BOM complexity.
Supply rails and interface options
The I²C, SPI, and RS-232 serial interfaces give the designer flexibility in how the motor parameters and commutation profile are programmed — either from an external host MCU over a two-wire bus or through a dedicated setup tool over RS-232.
