What it does — AC motor commutation with IGBT pre-driver
The IRMCF343TY is a controller for AC synchronous motors, handling commutation and direction management. It integrates a pre-driver configured as three half-bridges, designed to drive external IGBT power stages. Typical applications are appliance motor drives — think washing machine drums, compressor fans, or pump motors where sensorless or hall-sensor-based field-oriented control is needed.
Supply rails and interfaces
That split is common for mixed-voltage motor controllers — the low-voltage core keeps digital power down, while the 3.3 V I/O talks to sensors, encoders, and a host MCU over I²C, RS-232, or SPI.
That's fine for indoor appliance compartments and most factory-floor cabinets, but not for under-hood automotive or extended outdoor exposure above 85°C. Surface-mount assembly only — no through-hole option.
