IRL2203NSTRRPBF — a 30 V N-Channel HEXFET in D2PAK, now obsolete
Its 60 nC gate charge at 4.5 V makes it compatible with logic-level gate drivers.
7 mOhm Rds(on) at 60 A — the headline spec for a low-voltage power switch
At 4.5 V drive — the logic-level threshold — the Rds(on) will be higher, but the datasheet guarantees the 7 mOhm maximum at 10 V. For a 12 V input buck converter or a low-voltage motor driver, this resistance keeps conduction losses under 0.5 W at 8 A continuous. The 116 A continuous drain rating at 25°C case temperature gives substantial headroom for pulsed loads, but the 180 W power dissipation at the case must be thermally managed with a D2PAK footprint tied to a copper plane.
Obsolete — no active production, but still available through surplus channels
This means the part is no longer manufactured and cannot be ordered through the factory channel. However, it remains available through independent distribution as new-old-stock or surplus inventory.
D2PAK footprint — what the board designer needs to know
The TO-263-3 (D2PAK) package is a surface-mount variant of the through-hole TO-220, with the same 2.54 mm lead pitch and a large exposed metal tab for heat sinking.
