Product details

60 V, 48 A N-channel HEXFET® in D2PAK

The D2PAK (TO-263AB) surface-mount package suits automated assembly and moderate power dissipation up to 110 W when properly heatsinked through the tab.

This is the official warning: the manufacturer will not support new design-ins, and a last-time-buy window may already be closing or closed. For existing production, the part remains available through independent distribution, but any new BOM should target the recommended successor. No stock or lead-time number can be guaranteed here; the RFQ is the only reliable path.

At moderate switching frequencies (50–100 kHz), the 60 nC Qg is manageable with a standard totem-pole driver; above 200 kHz the gate-drive loss starts cutting into efficiency. The 4 V maximum threshold at 250 µA means a 5 V logic-level gate drive will turn the device on, but the 10 V drive voltage is needed to reach the minimum Rds(on) — a 5 V drive leaves the on-resistance roughly doubled, as the Rds(on) is specified at 10 V only.

Frequently asked questions

Is IRFZ44ESTRLPBF obsolete?

It is not yet fully discontinued, but the manufacturer advises against using it in new designs. Existing production should plan for a transition to the recommended replacement.

What is the difference between IRFZ44ESTRLPBF and IRFZ44N?

The IRFZ44ESTRLPBF is the surface-mount D2PAK variant of the same 60 V, 48 A die used in the through-hole IRFZ44N (TO-220). The electrical ratings — 60 V Vdss, 48 A Id, 23 mΩ Rds(on) at 10 V — are identical. The difference is package and lifecycle: the IRFZ44N is widely available in TO-220, while the 'ESTRLPBF' suffix denotes the D2PAK tape-and-reel version. Both are NRND; the same successor applies.
