30 V N-channel in a 5x6 PQFN — what the numbers mean
That 9 mOhm is the conduction-loss floor for a 30 V rail — at 10 A the dissipation is under 1 W, so the part runs cool in a point-of-load converter or a load switch. The continuous drain current is rated at 14 A when referenced to ambient (Ta) and 44 A when the case temperature (Tc) is held at 25°C. The gap between those numbers tells you the package thermal path is the limiter — the PQFN exposed pad needs a good via pattern and copper pour to pull heat into the board.
For a 500 kHz buck converter the gate-drive current is about 7.5 mA — well within a standard driver's capability. The drive voltage range (4.5 V to 10 V for rated Rds(on)) means a 5 V logic gate drive will turn it on, but the Rds(on) will be higher than the 9 mOhm figure at 10 V. Maximum gate-source voltage is ±20 V, and the threshold voltage is 2.35 V at 25 µA drain current. The wide threshold margin keeps the device off with a 0 V gate while allowing full enhancement at standard logic levels.
The part has a single orientation mark (pin 1 chamfer) that is visible after reflow; a hot-air station can lift it cleanly if the board is preheated to 100°C. The ROHS3 compliance means no lead in the solder finish — the part is compatible with lead-free reflow profiles.
