Product details

Half-bridge gate driver with 600 V bootstrap — what it does

The IR2113-1 is a high-voltage half-bridge gate driver designed to drive IGBTs and N-Channel MOSFETs in a bootstrap configuration. It handles a high-side voltage up to 600 V, making it suitable for motor drives, inverters, and switch-mode power supplies where the top switch floats above the DC rail. Two independent channels, each rated for 2 A peak source and sink current, charge and discharge the gate capacitance quickly enough to keep switching losses under control in hard-switched bridges. The 25 ns typical rise time and 17 ns fall time give the designer a tight dead-time budget to avoid shoot-through.

Supply voltage spans 3.3 V to 20 V, so the same part works with a 5 V logic rail or a 15 V gate-drive rail without a separate regulator. The non-inverting input type means the output follows the input polarity — no inversion in the signal path. The channels operate independently, which allows complementary or independent switching of the two outputs.

Through-hole package and temperature grade

Housed in a 14-lead PDIP (0.300-inch body width), the IR2113-1 is a through-hole part suited for prototyping, low-volume production, or retrofit into existing boards that use DIP footprints.

Obsolete — sourcing and alternatives

The IR2113-1 is marked obsolete by the manufacturer. For new designs or long-term production, a functionally similar half-bridge driver from the same or another vendor should be evaluated.

Frequently asked questions

Is IR2113-1 compatible with 5V logic?

No. The logic input thresholds are 6 V (VIL) and 9.5 V (VIH). A 5 V logic signal will not reliably drive the input high. The logic supply must be at least 9.5 V to guarantee correct operation.
