Through-hole TO-251 — assembly and field-service fit

The PG-TO251-3-345 (IPak) package has three short leads and a tab for heatsinking. It mounts through a single hole in the PCB, soldered on the opposite side. The tab is the drain connection. For manual assembly or rework in a repair depot, this package is easier to handle than a surface-mount DPAK. The 34 W dissipation rating assumes the tab is soldered to a copper area or bolted to a heatsink — free-air operation derates significantly.
