Single-channel high-side switch for 12V/24V loads
The Infineon IPS7091PBF is a single-channel, non-inverting high-side switch in a TO-220-5 through-hole package. It switches a 6V to 35V load supply at up to 1.5A continuous, with a typical Rds(on) of 80 mOhm.
At 1.5A output, the 80 mOhm typical on-resistance produces a 120 mV drop and 180 mW dissipation inside the switch. That is manageable in the TO-220 package with a modest heatsink, but the actual Rds(on) rises with junction temperature — expect roughly 1.5× the 25°C value at 125°C junction. Budget the thermal path accordingly if the load runs continuously near the 1.5A limit.
Infineon lists the IPS7091PBF as obsolete. For new designs, consider a current-production high-side switch from the same functional class — verify pin-compatibility and parametric overlap before substituting.
