Low-side switch with built-in fault protection
The Infineon IPS1041LTRPBF is a single-channel low-side N-channel power switch in a SOT-223 package. It switches a grounded load up to 28 V and 1.95 A, with a typical on-resistance of 80 mOhm — the conduction loss at 1 A is under 80 mV drop, keeping the load voltage close to the rail. Input is non-inverting with a 1:1 ratio, so a logic-high on the gate turns the output on. No external Vcc is required — the gate is driven from the load supply itself.
Thermal and protection margins
Built-in fault protection includes fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown. If the load draws more than the current limit or the die exceeds the thermal threshold, the switch latches off — no external sense resistor or comparator needed.
