Low-side switch with 40 mOhm Rds(on) and integrated fault protection
The Infineon IPS1031RTRLPBF is a single-channel low-side N-channel power switch in a D-Pak (TO-252-3) surface-mount package. It switches a 28 V max load at up to 3 A continuous, with a typical on-resistance of 40 mOhm that keeps conduction losses manageable in a compact footprint. The switch is self-protected with fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, so it can drive resistive, inductive, or lamp loads in harsh environments without an external sense resistor or thermal fuse.
Obsolete — sourcing and replacement planning
If you are qualifying a replacement, look for a low-side switch in a D-Pak or compatible TO-252 footprint with a similar Rds(on) and protection set. The fixed current limit and 150°C TJ rating narrow the candidate pool; many newer parts offer adjustable current limiting but may need an external resistor.
Parametric profile for fit assessment
Output configuration is low-side with a non-inverting On/Off interface — a logic-high on the input turns the N-channel FET on. No Vcc supply is required; the gate is driven from the load voltage internally. The single output is rated 3 A maximum continuous with a 1:1 input-to-output ratio. Fixed current limiting and over-temperature protection are built in; there is no adjustable current-limit pin.
