The IPS0151S is an Infineon low-side N-channel power switch rated for a continuous output current of 3.8 A with a typical on-resistance of 20 mOhm. That Rds(on) figure, measured at 25°C, sets the conduction loss at 0.29 W at full load — low enough to avoid a heatsink in many automotive and industrial solenoid or lamp-drive applications, provided the copper pad on the D2PAK tab is sized for the thermal budget.
Integrated fault protection cuts external BOM
The switch includes fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, so no external sense resistor or thermal watchdog IC is needed. The input-to-output ratio is 1:1 with a non-inverting On/Off interface, and no Vcc supply is required — the gate drive is self-biased from the load voltage up to 35 V max.
D2PAK package and 150°C junction — built for harsh environments
That 150°C ceiling qualifies it for under-hood automotive and high-ambient industrial enclosures where the ambient may reach 85°C or more.
Infineon lists the IPS0151S as Obsolete.
