600 V, 40 A, 60 mOhm — high-voltage SMPS and PFC stage FET
The IPL60R060CFD7AUMA1 is an N-channel MOSFET from Infineon's CoolMOS™ CFD7 series, rated at 600 V drain-source and 40 A continuous drain current at a 25°C case temperature.
Gate charge and switching performance
A total gate charge of 79 nC at 10 V means the gate driver must supply about 7.9 mA per 100 kHz of switching frequency (Qg × fsw). The input capacitance is 3193 pF at 400 V drain-source — this is the capacitive load the driver sees during the Miller plateau. For a typical 100 kHz hard-switched PFC stage, a driver with at least 2 A peak source/sink capability will keep the switching edges clean.
Package and thermal path
The part comes in a 4-PowerTSFN (PG-VSON-4) surface-mount package with the drain pad exposed on the bottom. The 150°C maximum junction temperature allows operation in high-ambient environments such as enclosed power supplies and motor drives, but the thermal resistance from junction to case must be managed with a copper land pattern and, for sustained high current, a heatsink on the PCB backside.
Lifecycle and compliance
It is ROHS3 compliant, covering the restricted substances under EU Directive 2011/65/EU, which is the baseline for shipping into European and most global markets.
