Gate charge and switching speed
Total gate charge is 31.5 nC at 10 V, which keeps the drive current modest even at moderate switching frequencies. A 100 kHz hard-switched converter drawing 31.5 nC per cycle needs about 3.15 mA average gate drive — well within the capability of most half-bridge drivers. Input capacitance is 870 pF at 100 V Vds, giving a reasonable Miller plateau for clean turn-on.
Through-hole package for rugged builds
The TO-262-3 (I²Pak) through-hole package with long leads suits designs where vibration resistance or hand-rework is a priority. The through-hole body takes a hot-air station well; the leads are long enough to dress through a single-sided board without stress on the solder joint.
