Package and mounting — D²Pak with tab
Supplied in the TO-263-3 (D²Pak) surface-mount package, the device has two leads plus the tab — the tab is the drain connection, so the PCB copper area under the tab doubles as the thermal path. The supplier device package is PG-TO263-3-2. Mounting is surface mount; the large tab footprint suits reflow soldering and allows heat to spread into the board plane. The package also supports cut-tape quantities for prototyping alongside the standard tape-and-reel production feed.

Junction temperature spans -55°C to 175°C, which covers automotive under-hood, industrial motor drives, and outdoor telecom equipment without derating at the high end.
