Gate charge and drive: 80 nC at 10 V
Gate charge totals 80 nC at 10 V gate drive. For a hard-switched 100 kHz application, that translates to 8 mA average gate drive current — well within the capability of a standard driver IC, but the peak current requirement at turn-on is what sets the drive source impedance. The ±20 V maximum gate rating gives headroom for ringing on a 12 V or 15 V gate rail without clamping.
Package and thermal: PG-TO263-3-2
Housed in the PG-TO263-3-2 (D²Pak), this is a surface-mount part with an exposed tab. The 255 W power dissipation at case temperature assumes a large copper area on the PCB — the tab is the primary heat path.
