Surface-mount assembly in the PG-TO263-3-2 package. The exposed tab is the drain connection and the primary thermal path. Solder the tab to a large copper area on the PCB — the datasheet's thermal resistance figures assume a certain pad size, and skimping on copper adds junction temperature that eats into the 150 °C limit. The -55 to 150 °C junction temperature range covers industrial and outdoor telecom environments.
