Maximum power dissipation is 300 W at case temperature, but that number assumes an ideal heatsink; real-world dissipation depends on the thermal interface and airflow. The 175°C limit means this part can operate in a hot industrial enclosure or near a motor winding without needing a massive heatsink, as long as the average junction temperature stays under the derating curve.
Surface-mount D2PAK (TO-263-3) with a single tab — the tab is the drain connection. The supplier device package is PG-TO263-3. Board layout must handle the tab's thermal path: a large copper pour on the drain node and, for high-power designs, vias to an internal or backside copper plane.
