TO-220 Full Pack — mounting and thermal considerations
The TO-220 Full Pack (fully isolated) package has the metal tab encapsulated in epoxy, so the tab is electrically isolated from the drain. This means the MOSFET can be bolted directly to a grounded chassis or heatsink without an insulating pad or shoulder washer — saving assembly time and eliminating a failure point in high-vibration environments like industrial motor drives. Power dissipation limit is 26 W at the case temperature.
It is ROHS3 compliant, with no exemptions that would complicate EU or California market compliance.
